This scholarship seeks to empower young photographers by supporting their pursuits of higher education.

Award:

$500 Scholarship to be applied to college or university costs

$200 Gift Certificate to Bella Mi Photography

Eligibility Requirements:

-Must be age 17-24

-Must be a legal resident of the State of Ohio

-Must be a senior at an Ohio High School OR must be enrolled at an accredited Ohio College or University, pursuing either two or four year degree

-Must provide two references: one, non-family character reference, one current teacher/professor (please submit both references in one file, either in .doc, .docx or .pdf format.)

-Must complete the following assignments:

1. Submit an original photograph. Photograph may be in any style and of any subject, but less than 50% of the subject may be illustrated. Any individuals appearing in the photograph must submit a photo release. Please submit the original image and the edited image (before and after processing/photoshopping).
2. Write an essay (between 500-750 words) about what the photograph means (please submit either a file in .doc, .docx or .pdf format.)

Fine Print:

-The applicants will be judged on the following criteria: Originality, Photographic composition, Use of photograph editing tools, Description of photograph’s meaning, Meeting eligibility requirements, Writing mechanics.

-A panel of judges will select the scholarship winner. Each judge works in the photography industry.

-Subjects photographed will need to provide a written photo release to the applicant.

-All applications must be submitted through our electronic form.

-Applications will be accepted until Friday, January 26, 2018, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Any applications received after that time will be considered for the following year's scholarship.

-You will be contacted if your application moves into the final round of judging. The winner will be announced on Monday, April 2, 2018.
